A left back at Provazios Sports Academy of Magodo, Lagos, Oreoluwa Faseun has disclosed that checking Cristiano Ronaldo’s high work rate has helped him to effectively combine playing football with concentrating on his education.
Faseun admitted that it is not easy to stay focused on academics while pursuing a career in football, but he further told sports247.ng that CR7’s story inspires him to keep trying.
The very tall and articulate lad added that he started having a desire for football from an early age and he took the decision to pursue it as a career long ago.
“Football has always been my dream. I picked interest in it since when I was a kid.
“Though I am tall and people think I should be a basketballer, I prefer playing football because that’s what keeps me excited.
“I love football because it entertains me and inspires me,” the exuberant lad disclosed.
He then spoke about the support he gains at home and gleefully revealed: “I have the full support of my parents. They always inspire me and encourage me to keep going on.
“Even when I don’t feel like going to training, or I am tired, they inspire me everyday.”
Faseun concluded by revealing how it has become possible for him to mix football with academics, while also mentioning ambitions he has in the round leather game.
“Playing football has not affected my academics, because I have been able to properly balance the time that I spend for both.
“Part of what motivates me is the example of Ronaldo and the things that he does.
“Ronaldo is the player I look up to, because of his work ethics, and he’s a fighter. Because I like him, I am thinking of playing for Man U and Real Madrid,” Faseun enthused.
