A board member of Nigeria Cricket Federation (NCF), Chika Opara has expressed satisfaction with the recent revival of the sport in the country, and believes days ahead will right all wrongs that led to an embarrassing decline for the nation.
Opara said in an interview with sports247.ng that it was alarming that Nigeria went so low in the sports of cricket in the continent over recent years, though the country first introduced the game in 1904.
He, however, expressed happiness in the progress of cricket over the last year and believes there is more to come.
Following the under-19 national team’s victory in the ICC World Cup qualifiers in South Africa two months ago, Opara enthused that the revival of Nigeria’s fortunes in the wickets’ sport is back on course.
