The president of Nigeria Cricket Federation (NCF), Professor Adams Ukenya Yahaya has disclosed that the body plans to expand its scope of impact in the coming year.
Yahaya told sports247.ng that the federation’s plan for 2019 is that cricket will be for all Nigerians, not just for children and youths.
He acknowledged that the NCF had huge successes of 2018 with their novel mobilisation and grassroots development programmes, but said they aim to take the steps even further.
Yahaya said: “In developing cricket at the grassroots, the task should comprise everyone and not just the school children.
“We are happy that we launched our mass mobilization program in the outgoing year, with our target on school children.
“We have touched the six geo-political zones of the country, so we are now looking further ahead to involve every Nigerian, old and young.”
