The draws for the CP Olufemi Abaniwonda Peace and Unity Football Tournament took place on Monday at Ricky’s Hotel, Ughelli, Delta State. Organized by the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) and the Delta State Football Association (DFA), the tournament aims to promote peace and unity among the 14 kingdoms under the Ughelli Area Command.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Ademola Adebayo stressed the need for a unified platform to resolve conflicts through soccer, rather than violence. The police are committed to curbing crises that have resulted in loss of lives and properties.
The tournament will feature a knockout format, with each kingdom represented by its best players. The draws are:
– Olomu vs. Owheru
– Agbon kingdom vs. Arhavwarien
– Effurun Otor vs. Orogun
– Eghwu vs. Ughelli
– Agbarho vs. Ogor
– Agbarho Otor vs. Evwreni
– Okparabe vs. Ughievwen
The opening matches will kick off on Saturday 29th of march at the Open football field, Ughelli.
Olomu will face Owheru at 10 am, Agbon kingdom will play Arhavrwarien at 12 pm, and Effurun Otor will face Orogun.
The draws ceremony was attended by Delta State FA board members, led by Chairman Hon. Godwin Adode, ACP Ademola Adebayo (Ughelli Police Force Area Commander) and other police officers, representatives of the 14 kingdoms, press members, and coaches.
