Operators of viewing centres in Lagos have decried the zero patronage sequel to suspension of the European League occasioned by the coronavirus crisis.
One of the Ifako-Ijaiye centre operators, who spoke to us in Lagos, said the pandemic had negatively affected the trade and exposed them to losses.
Segun Omomurphy, a viewing centre operator, said that the number of football fans patronising the centre has dropped since the suspension of the Champions and European Leagues.
He said: “We are really suffering this, the suspension is regrettable; we spend much on the subscription which is expensive, we are now running the centre at a loss because all games have been suspended with the directive of the Lagos government limiting public gathering to 50 people”.
