Ozigi Football Academy extended an olive branch to the less privileged families by blessing them with food items and cash last weekend.
The food items and cash gifts amounts to more than three hundred thousand naira according to findings by this website.
Proprietor of the Academy Madaki Isah who is also into entertainment disclosed this while speaking on Tuesday.
It will be recalled that Kaduna State has been on lockdown since the beginning of the week due to the CoronaVirus pandemic.
“On sensing the impending danger ahead of the total lockdown of the entire country due to the Covid-19, I quickly tried to reach out to the less privilege through my Academy in the ghetto I grew up from in Kaduna, knowing fully well their standard of living was on a go out and get what to eat on a daily basis,” Madaki Isah began in chat.
“Our first point of call was my former family compound at Nasarawa, Kaduna, where we grew up. Most people there are now jobless due to the shutdown of textiles in the state.
“We had to rush out of my hiding last Thursday to buy some relief materials such as packs of Maggi, 15 gallon of groundnut oil, soap, Semovita, and 15 bags of locally package rice at an inflated price of 17k per bag because it was too late to enter market then.
“We shared food to 15 families with cash donation of 5k each to the family in that compound.
“My Academy did this because of the passion for giving to help those really in need. We really know how it feels not to have food to eat.”
Madaki Isah urged well meaning Nigerians to extend olive branch to the poor and their neighbours at this trying times, reiterating that the pandemic will soon become history.
