The former Ogun State Commissioner of Youths and Sports Development, Bukola Olopade has reaffirmed that the global coronavirus pandemic is real.
Olopade while sharing with journalists the experience of his close shave with death through Covid-19 disclosed that the virus is real and a potential killer. Adding that he would not stop his advocacy on the dangers of the desease.
While he rued the misplaced claims by not a few members of the public on the veracity of the dangers of the virus, he went on to remark jokingly that whosoever that does not believe in the warnings about the virus should visit the treatment and isolation centres to hug the patients.
” Let those saying the coronavirus is not real, pay a visit to any of the treatment centres to hug the people there and see what happens to them in a couple of days,” the award-winning sports marketing guru stated.
Narrating his nightmarish experience during the ailment, Ozogula, as he his fondly called recalled the days of severe cough and near blinding headaches and breathing difficulties which were some symptoms of the virus.
” There are a few symptoms like very bad and dry cough, blinding headaches. Some others are also said they experience a loss of taste, loss of smell, sore throat and fever.
” My advice is that once you have noticed those ailments, seek immediate advice from the doctors. My doctors repeated tests on me and later, the tests proved negative,” he
Olapade while expressing gratitude to God and the media, who he also described as frontliners in the battle against the pandemic, he was also effusive in praises for the Governors of Lagos and Ogun states.
” These two governors stand out very well in this fight against Covid-19. Governor Babajide Sanwo Olu of Lagos State, has proven his mettle as a proactive and wartime governor. While Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has also brought creativity to the battle. The Federal government through the NCDC, have equally done well in this regards,” he quipped.
He went ahead to admonish other state governors to step up their actions in the fight against the pandemic. He advised them to be ready to protect their people, at this critical period.
