The Board of the Nigeria Wheelchair Basketball Federation (NWBF) has announced that ten out of the fifteen expected teams have confirmed their arrival dates for the event, which is set to take place from April 3 to 7, 2025.

This tournament stands as one of the biggest elite wheelchair basketball championships on the NWBF calendar.

The NWBF expects a high level of competition and standard of play, as the tournament will bring together the very best of Nigeria’s wheelchair basketball players.

Organizers have also assembled a top-level technical team to scout outstanding players who will be invited to the national camp ahead of the Commonwealth Games qualifiers in South Africa later this year.

President of the NWBF, Seyi Johnson, emphasized the federation’s commitment to delivering a world-class tournament.

“This is one of our flagship tournaments for the year, and from an organizational point of view, we are determined to put our best foot forward to ensure a good tournament, worthy of the support we are getting from our sponsors, BetKing,” Johnson stated.

He further called on more corporate bodies to partner with the NWBF to drive the growth of wheelchair basketball in Nigeria.

With expectations running high, the tournament promises to be a landmark event for the sport, showcasing the skill and determination of Nigeria’s top wheelchair basketball athletes.
