The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has achieved yet another milestone under the leadership of Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM.
Corporal Juliet Chukwu, a rising star in the world of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), showcased exceptional skill and determination to emerge victorious in the Bantamweight category at the Extreme Fighting Championship (EFC119) held in Johannesburg, South Africa.
This win is a testament to the incredible talent fostered within the NPF and underlines Nigeria’s growing prominence in global sports.
Speaking on this achievement, IGP Egbetokun said, “We are immensely proud of Corporal Juliet’s extraordinary achievement, which serves as a beacon of what dedication and hard work can accomplish.
The Nigeria Police Force will continue to support and nurture talent, ensuring we achieve excellence not only in policing but in all facets of life, including sports.”

His vision for MMA within the Force has already led to significant initiatives such as the creation of the Nigeria Police MMA Association, the successful hosting of the 1st IGP MMA Open National Championship, and the inclusion of MMA demonstrations in the upcoming 14th Biennial Police Games (BIPOGA) – Oluyole 2024.
Highlighting the importance of nurturing talent, IGP Egbetokun emphasized that the Force would continue to support Corporal Juliet and other police athletes, ensuring their progress on the global stage.
