Some Lagos State football clubs who are preparing for Nationwide League Two would not have the opportunity to play in this year’s 2021/2022 Winners Golden Bet Lagos State Challenge Cup as the two high profile football competitions clash on the same date.
According to the guideline released by the organizers, the Lagos FA Cup would commence on 23 May 2022 which coincides with NLO Two fixtures.
The NLO Two according to the organizers would kick off from 22 through 28 May at the Remo Township Stadium, Ogun State.
Some of the Lagos NLO two clubs are worried over the clash of the dates and pressure is mounting on Lagos FA to readjust their fixtures unless NLO teams in Lagos may not play this year’s edition of the Lagos FA Cup.
Meanwhile, the Lagos FA would start the processing of licenses on 9 May and closes on 18 May before the commencement of the league. This year’s edition is being sponsored by Winners Golden Bet.
The Lagos FA also disclosed that all clubs duly registered for the 2019/2020 Lagos FA Cup that was not played due to the COVID-19 pandemic are exempted from payment of registration but must be affiliated to date 2021/2022 with LSFA.
