Confluence Queens Aim for Dramatic Upset Against Edo Queens in NWFL Finale

As the curtain falls on the 2024/2025 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership regular season this Wednesday, April 30th, Confluence Queens FC of Lokoja are preparing for a high-stakes showdown against defending champions Edo Queens FC.

Currently rooted to the bottom of Group A, Confluence Queens are desperate to escape relegation and will be hoping to end their campaign on a high by stunning Edo Queens. The Lokoja-based side has been putting in extra work behind the scenes and believes they can upset the odds in this crucial tie.

Edo Queens, who have already secured their place in the Super Six playoffs, may approach the game with less urgency, especially following last week’s defeat to Nasarawa Amazons. Coach Moses Aduku’s squad could risk complacency, providing an opening for Confluence Queens to take advantage.

Though they’ve struggled this season, Confluence Queens have a history of resilience, having featured in the Super Six just two seasons ago. With nothing left to lose, the team will aim to channel that past fighting spirit and challenge the reigning champions.

The clash promises drama and intensity, as one team battles for survival and the other looks to reassert their championship credentials
