CONFED CUP 2020: WE WERE NOT FIT ENOUGH – OSHO

Nigerian professional football league champions, Enyimba international football club continued their quest to win the CAF Confederations Cup by playing a 1-1 draw with Guinea’s Horoya AC on Sunday at the Aba international stadium.

The Aba boys had a brilliant first half which saw striker, Austin Oladapo score a screamer for the Elephants in the 19th minute of the encounter before the Boniface Haba equalized for the guests late on in the game.

Coach of the Elephants, Fatai Osho blamed the second 45 minutes poor performance of the Aba boys on fatigue and injuries to some players.
‘it is glaring to everybody that we are not fully fit, we have lots of players returning after a long time, that didn’t help our course; I mean it quite glaring in the second half, they did well in the first half but the amount of injuries is taking its toll now’.

‘Because we had limited number of players registered in this competition, we had to force some players to play, we were left with no choice and it really affected us today’.
The gaffer also lauded the guests- Horoya AC for a good performance and for forcing them to a draw.

‘They did very well to get this result and they did better than us’.
The second leg of the tie is to be played next weekend where Enyimba will travel to Guinea.
