The Honourable Commissioner for Youths and Sports Development Hon. Dan Ogu has commended the Deputy Speaker of Imo State legislature Hon. Amarachukwu Chyna Anyanwu for his interest and commitment towards grassroots football development.
He stated this at Umuorlu Primary School Nwangele Local Government Council during the official kick-off the soccer competition between Amaigbo and Karanolu Wards.
The soccer fiesta which was sponsored by the Deputy Speaker was part of his Ongoing youth empowerment initiative designed to discover new talents and expose the youths to opportunities for their development and upliftment.
Those present during the kick-off event includes Rt. Hon. Paul Emeziem the newly elected Speaker of Imo State House of Assembly, Deputy Speaker Hon.AmarachukwuChyna Anyanwu, Hon. Uche Ogbuagu, Honourable Commissioner for Youths and Sports Development Hon. Dan Chike Ogu, other members of the Legislative House, Special Adviser to the Governor Hon. Mrs Orisakwe, General Manager of the Heartland Football Club of Owerri Mr Ifeanyi Chukwudi.
The opening match ended with Karanolu ‘s team 0 — 0 victorY.
