Despite the blazing form of Delta State in national sports competitions over decades now, the comedy icon still believes that the government of Delta has a lot to do for grassroots sports development.
In Alibaba’s congratulatory speech to the incoming governor, he wrote. “Let Delta State start a royal grassroots tournament. All the kings will choose youth from their community to take part.
“This will integrate grassroots sports, promote culture and develop unity. With the rivers all over Delta State, the state should have a swimming competition.
“Make it big like the Lagos Marathon. You can get many Michael Phelps in the riverine areas of the state as many of them are using the talent for the wrong purpose.
Alibaba enumerated a lot of things he hope the new administration will do for the youth, particularly for arts, culture and grassroots sports as he charged the state government not to relent in sports development.
