Hamzat, who took charge of Utility Sports FC in September 2024 and led them to the DSL 2024 Season Two title, was shortlisted last Monday alongside Coach Warri Charles of D Shack FA and Coach Abdulrazaq Shakiru of Leal SC.

Utility Sports FC had an impressive run in March, winning three matches and drawing one. The team netted 16 goals and conceded just 3, finishing the month at the top of the league table. Their recent loss to Leal SC on April 3 did not affect the award selection, as it occurred outside the evaluation period.

A certified coach with FCAAN, The England FA Learning, and NIS credentials, Hamzat expressed heartfelt appreciation to the organisers for recognising the efforts of grassroots coaches.

“I’m truly grateful to the Dynasty Scouting League management for providing us with a platform to thrive. Being nominated alongside respected colleagues is an honour,” he told journalist.

“This recognition means a lot to me—it’s my first individual coaching award in a well-structured league. No matter how many more come, this one will always be special. I also see it as a win for all DSL coaches this season.”

Hamzat also thanked Utility Sports FC General Manager, Mr. Lawal Abiodun, and the entire club leadership for their continued trust and support.
