Speaking to the press after the match, Ilechukwu expressed his gratitude for the victory.
“We thank God for the victory. Very important game for us. Like I said before that second round, anything can happen at the stage where all teams will prepare. We thank God that this one has come and gone,” he said.
Despite the victory, Ilechukwu was quick to shift focus to the team’s upcoming game against Remo Stars.
“We have a big game on Wednesday against Remo Stars, who we are looking up to as the next champion of the Nigerian league. So I want us to concentrate on that game,” he added.
Ilechukwu acknowledged the strength of Doma United, describing them as a “stubborn team” with a “good coach” and a “top-class team.”
However, he emphasized that in football, anything can happen. “We don’t want to celebrate much because Doma United is a stubborn team.
Good team, good coach, top-class team. But in football, anything can happen. We have won. We’ll concentrate on our next game against Remo Stars,” he said.
Looking ahead, Ilechukwu is aware of the challenges that lie in the upcoming game against Remo Stars.
“I know it’s going to be a difficult game, today we have won and we have to prepare for the next game,” he concluded.
This victory and Ilechukwu’s forward-looking approach underscore the team’s determination and strategic planning as they navigate the NPFL.
As they prepare for their next game, fans and players alike eagerly anticipate what the future holds for this formidable team.
