In the wake of a 1-0 pre-season friendly victory over Ottasolo FC, Coach Babatunde Farouk Yusuf of Best Talent Football Club expressed his pride in the team’s performance.
Speaking after Saturday’s match in Lagos, Coach Farouk highlighted his players’ discipline and adherence to tactical instructions as key elements in their win.
The game’s solitary goal came in the 26th minute from Jamiu, catching Ottasolo FC off-guard and sealing back-to-back victories for Best Talent FC over their Lagos rivals.
Reflecting on the match, Coach Farouk was quick to attribute the success to the entire team, acknowledging their dedication and teamwork.
“I sincerely wish to appreciate the entire Management team, my players for doing a wonderful job today against Ottasolo FC right in front of their fans. They all played well and stuck to instructions. I am very proud of them,” he said.
The pre-season match unfolded with a tense, cautious start as both sides struggled to gain control in the opening minutes.
It wasn’t until the 20-minute mark that the game found its flow, with Best Talent FC settling into a rhythm that culminated in Jamiu’s decisive goal.
The youthful squad, composed mostly of players aged 14 to 19, showed maturity under pressure, maintaining their composure despite Ottasolo FC’s determined attempts to equalize.
Coach Farouk, known for his knack for developing young talent, has seen his team go twelve games unbeaten, with eleven wins and one draw.
His leadership has been instrumental in creating a cohesive unit that continues to perform against more seasoned opponents. “We are still building this team, and I will not allow this victory to get into the heads of these boys so as to guard against the future,” Coach Farouk noted, emphasizing the importance of staying grounded despite their recent success.
As the 2024/2025 Nationwide League One season approaches, Coach Farouk and his squad seem poised to make a significant impact, buoyed by their pre-season momentum and guided by a coach dedicated to the long-term development of his players.
