Coach Daniel Ogunmodede has expressed his excitement at the arrival of Nigeria’s National Team Head Coach, Éric Sékou Chelle, to the CHAN training camp in Ikenne-Remo, Ogun State.
Ogunmodede emphasized the importance of collaboration and unity as the Super Eagles B continue their preparations for the African Nations Championship (CHAN).
“I am extremely excited to receive our esteemed National Team Coach, Éric Sékou Chelle, to the CHAN training camp as we continue to prepare for success with the Super Eagles of Nigeria,” Ogunmodede stated.
“Alongside the rest of the crew, we extend our best wishes to our Head Coach for an inspiring and successful journey ahead. Together, we can be better.”
The camp also witnessed the arrival of Technical Director of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Coach Augustine Eguavoen, who accompanied Chelle and his agent, Sidibe Abraham Brehima.
The trio traveled from Abuja to Lagos aboard a ValueJet Airline CRJ 700 and proceeded to the Remo Stars Sports Institute, marking a pivotal step in the team’s CHAN preparation.
Supervisory Role for Chelle
At Chelle’s unveiling, NFF President Ibrahim Musa Gusau clarified that the newly appointed coach would adopt a supervisory role during the CHAN preparations.
The trio of Daniel Ogunmodede, Fidelis Ilechukwu, and Olatunji Baruwa, who successfully qualified the Super Eagles B for the tournament, will remain in charge of the team’s day-to-day preparation and participation.
The team’s preparations come amid news of the African Nations Championship being postponed by CAF to August 2025.
This extended timeline offers additional opportunities for strategic adjustments and enhanced team readiness.
Coach Ogunmodede’s rallying call, “Together, we can be better,” sets the tone for a collaborative and unified effort as the Super Eagles B aim for success on the continental stage.
