The umbrella body of premier league football clubs in Nigeria, Nigeria Premier Football League Club Owners Association of Nigeria (NPFL) is shocked by the death of Honourable Ekene Adams, Chairman House of Representatives Committee on Sports.
Chief Okey Kpalukwu, Chairman of the body made this known on Tuesday in Abuja while condoling members of the football family.

“The sudden death of Hon Ekene Abubakar is devastating. He was vibrant and full of life. Someone who lived for the beautiful game as a player and as an actuate administrator.
This is really sad. We pray that God grants the family he left behind the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss”.
The late Hon Ekene who was a member representing Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency in Kaduna State, Nigeria, was 39 years old before his demise.
A former football player, ex-GM of Kada City Football Club, and ex-GM Remo Stars before winning the House of Reps election under the Labour Party in 2023.
With his sports background, despite being a first-timer, he was appointed the Chairman of the House of Reps Committee on Sports.
He died in the early hours of today. This will be the second death in the House of Reps within 7 days.
