The 26-year-old has a notable international career, having earned 21 caps for the Nigerian national team and scoring one goal.
Awaziem began his professional journey with FC Porto, but his appearances for the side were limited to just 15.
Consequently, he spent most of his time on loan to other clubs. In the summer of 2020, he made the move to Boavista.
Since joining the Portuguese club, he has featured in 33 matches and had loan stints at Alanyaspor and Hadjuk Split. Notably, during his time with Split last season, he scored an impressive five goals in 36 appearances.
The potential acquisition of Awaziem comes as Club Brugge seeks to fill the void left by Abakar Sylla, who departed for Strasbourg earlier in the summer.
Additionally, there are rumours of another central defender, Jack Hendry, attracting interest from Saudi Arabia, which could lead to his departure from the club.
