Youth Olympic Games female gold medalist, Rosemary Chukwuma has disclosed that God has been her biggest motivator, inspiration and backer, who makes it possible for her to enact startling results on the athletics tracks.
Sports247.ng can report that, following her stunning emergence as the only Nigerian to [pick at gold medal at the recent YOG in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Chukwuma stressed that it was not achieved through her efforts only, but by the grace of God in her life.
Chukwuma, who also excelled at the African Youth Games and Nigerian trials, said she has now set her sight on representing Nigeria at the senior Olympics of 2020 in Tokyo, Japan, where she believes she can excel if given a chance.
Chukwuma anchored the women’s 4x100m team to Commonwealth Bronze and African Championships Gold medals, before which she won a bronze medal in the 100m and a silver medal in the 200m at the 2018 ECOWAS U20 Games in Ghana.
She has now disclosed that God has made it all possible for her, and promised not to disappoint the country, as she aims to win a medal for Nigeria, if selected for the 2020 Olympics.
CXhukwuma said: “My next target is to participate in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, which I know will be made possible by God and hard work.
“If I make the team for the Summer Olympics, I strongly believe that I will try my best to win a medal – bronze, silver or gold.
“I strongly believe that my God will do it for me because what I achieved in Argentina wasn’t by my power but through the strength given to me.
“The journey hasn’t been easy. It has been very stressful but with the help of God, I am improving.”
