Nigeria and Villarreal youngster Samuel Chukwueze has been listed among the top twelve best LaLiga Santander young talents in the just concluded 2018/2019 season, Sports247 report.
The Diamond Academy graduate who made his debut for the Yellow Submarines against Levante in November 2018 joins Barcelona youngster Ousmane Dembele and Real Madrid’s Vinicius Junior on the list.
Other names on the list are Atletico Madrid’s Rodrigo Hernandez, Valencia’s Gonçalo Guedes, Mikel Oyarzabal (Real Sociedad), Youssef En-Nesyri (Leganes), Marc Cucurella (SD Eibar), Pedro Porro (Girona), Junior Firpo (Real Betis), Oscar Melendo (RCD Espanyol) and Brais Mendez (RC Celta).
On Chukwueze, La Liga official website wrote: ”Samuel Chukwueze (22-05-1999) is another exciting frontman, and as the Brazilian, he was his club’s shining light for much of 2018/19. A talented dribbler, he possesses real maturity for his age and also has an eye for goal.”
Chukwueze who is part of the 25-man provisional list released by Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr for AFCON 2019 featured 38 times for the Spanish side across three competitions last season – scoring eight goals and providing two assists.
