Former Super Eagles head coach, Christian Chukwu has added his voice to permutations ahead of the female national team, Super Falcons last group match at the Africa Women Cup of Nations in Ghana, and stressed that they need to beat Equatorial Guinea with as many goals as possible.
Amidst speculation that Zambia and South Africa could play an accord match in the simultaneous last group match, in order to edge Nigeria out of a semi-final ticket, Chukwu said during a sports programme monitored by sports247.ng that it could come down to goals difference.
‘Chairman’ said he believes the Falcons will win Saturday’s match in Cape Coast, but warned that they have to avoid a situation in which they would not be able to convert all chances that come their way.
Chukwu noted that Equatorial Guinea have lost their first two matches scandalously, but further warned that they should not be underrated.
“Beating Equatorial Guinea is a must,” said Chukwu, who captain Nigeria to win the Africa Cup of Nations on home soil in 1980.
“I believe the Falcons will beat them, but the number of goals they get from the match will matter.
“We need goals, because we don’t know what Zambia and South Africa will play. We must not underrate them, but we need more goals in this match.”
