With figures of cholera infection rising by the day across Lagos and other states of the country, the school located on Olugbede Street in Orelope area of Egbeda chose awareness about the disease as their theme for this year’s community outreach.
Masterguide Schools’ proprietress, Mrs Ngozi Ogbonna said corporate social responsibility has always been an integral part of the institution’s focus, and she expressed appreciation for the responses everyone gave this year’s venture.
“I am happy that pupils from the primary section and students in the college, as well as their teachers and all our staff, did not show any reluctance.
“They all walked for almost two hours round the major streets of our immediate environment and through key spots in Egbeda to spread information about the dangers of cholera,” Ogbonna revealed with sheer delight.
It was indeed a great sight to behold, as almost everyone in both sections of the school trooped out to share leaflets about the causes, prevention, symptoms and treatment of cholera.
They also displayed two bold banners depicting their mission, plus an accompanying public address system used in vocally educating the public about the infectious disease.
