Aboh Mbaise will be the place to visit on Thursday December 22nd as all roads lead the country home of former Director General, National Sports Commission (NSC), Chief Patrick Ekeji as the remains of his mother, Late Ezinne Francisca Ekeji, would be committed to mother earth at Umueneri Ogwu Nguru Aboh Mbaise.
The Association in a press statement jointly signed by the Chairman, Everest Ezihe and Secretary, Tunde Liadi, enjoined all lovers of football and friends and well wishers of the former DG NSC and the incumbent Deputy Chief of Staff (Administration) to Imo Government to troop to Nguru, Aboh Mbaise to pay their last respect to the mother of the iconic Pat Ekeji.
Imo SWAN expressed sadness at the death of the Ezinne Francisca Ekeji and that it continues to grieve with Dr. Pat Ekeji who is an ally and Patron of the Association at this period but that the Association is comforted that Mama is now resting in a better place free from all the troubles and nays of the world.
“On behalf of the members of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria SWAN, Imo State Chapter, we beseech all lovers of what Dr. Pat Ekeji entails to troop to Nguru in Aboh Mbaise for the celebration of life of Ezinne Francisca Ekeji. Dr. Pat Ekeji is a man of many parts to different people and it is just nice he is honoured with a befitting burial for his mother,” the press statement stated.
“As we join you and the family to mourn the passing on to glory of a rare gem, our prayer is for God in his infinite mercy to grant you and your siblings the strength to bear the irreparable loss.
“May our Almighty Father grant her indefatigable soul and the soul of the departed, eternal rest.”
Imo SWAN enjoined the Deputy Chief of Staff (Administration) and his entire family to take heart and think about Mama’s positive impact to Imo state and Nigeria as a whole after her 94 fruitful years on the earth.
Ezinne Francisca Ekeji’s interment holds Thursday, December 22nd 2022 at the Ekeji family compound, Umuemeri Ogwu Nguru, Aboh-Mbaise LGA, Imo State after the burial mass.
She is survived by Dr Patrick Ekeji, his brothers and sisters, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
