In a significant recognition of his unwavering dedication to promoting peace and unity, Chief Barr. Isaac Danladi, the Permanent Secretary of the Nasarawa State Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, was honored by the Global Alliance for Peace and Unity.
The commendation event, held on Thursday, August 1, 2024, at the Ministry in Lafia, celebrated Danladi’s contributions to fostering harmony in Nasarawa State and across Nigeria.
Chief Barr. Danladi received a Certificate of Commendation as a “Peace and Unity Advocate in Nigeria” and an “Icon of Peace, Youth and Sports Development in Nigeria,” along with a Medal of Honour.
This recognition was presented by Solomon Pevkyaa(JP), the President-General of the Global Alliance for Peace and Unity and Senior Special Assistant to Governor Abdullahi Sule on Culture and Tourism, who led the national delegates to the ceremony.
Pevkyaa lauded Danladi for using his office to promote a culture of peace within Nasarawa State and beyond. He highlighted Danladi’s role in facilitating initiatives that enhance social cohesion, supporting peace-building programs, and committing to conflict resolution through dialogue and negotiation.
“These accolades are a testament to your dedication to creating a more peaceful and harmonious world, acknowledging your efforts in making a positive impact and encouraging continued leadership in promoting peace and understanding in Nigerian society,” Pevkyaa remarked.
In his response, a visibly moved Danladi expressed his gratitude for the recognition, describing it as both humbling and inspiring. “I have so many awards, but this is the most treasured award I have received in recent times. This is because it comes from a group that I never knew was observing and appreciating my efforts,” he said.
Danladi dedicated the award to Almighty God and Governor Abdullahi Sule, whose trust in his abilities led to his appointment as Permanent Secretary. He pledged to continue his efforts for the betterment of humanity, acknowledging the recognition as a challenge to intensify his contributions.
“I am not perfect, but with God on my side, I will continue to do my best for the sake of divinity and humanity,” Danladi stated. “In all honesty, there is no better time to receive this award than now, especially as it comes during a period of reflection in our beloved country.”
Eche Amos, the Public Relations Officer of the Nasarawa State Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, echoed the sentiments of the occasion, highlighting the Ministry’s commitment to peace and youth development.
“The recognition of Chief Barr. Isaac Danladi is a proud moment for our Ministry and serves as an inspiration for all of us to continue striving for peace and unity in our community,” Amos said.
The event was also attended by Directors of the Ministry, who joined in celebrating Danladi’s achievements. Danladi concluded by urging citizens to trust and support their government, discouraging violence and promoting patience and resilience in the face of challenges.
