New signing at Kalmar FF of Sweden, Chidiebere Nwakali has disclosed that he opted for a return to Scandinavia because he remembers the best days of his past loan deals were at two clubs in Norway.
Sports247.ng reports that Nwakali is excited with his four-year deal at the Swedish Allsvenskan side, which will run until the end of the 2022 season, and the ex-Manchester City youth team is looking back.
Nwakali moves to Kalmar in a free transfer, after mutually ending his last contract with Rakow Czestochowa of Poland in November, and the UAE 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup gold medalist said he is happy returning to Scandinavia.
Despite never getting to play competitively for Manchester City, who bought him when he was 18-years-old and loaned him to five different clubs, Nwakali is giving The Cirtizens credit for his development.
Nwakali expatiated: ”I had a good time there and am extremely grateful for everything they helped me with over the years.
”There have been many loans where I played for Malaga, Girona, Start, Sogndal and Aberdeen.
”Of the clubs, the time I spent in the Norwegian league was best for me personally where I played all the matches and performed good football.”
