Chidi Okezie Gears Up for Fierce Showdown at FNB Botswana Golden Grand Prix

Nigerian sprint sensation Chidi Okezie is set to face one of his toughest tests yet as he lines up against a world-class field at the FNB Botswana Golden Grand Prix, scheduled for April 12th in Gaborone.

The 400m specialist, who has been steadily climbing the ranks in African athletics, will be eyeing a strong performance as he squares off against an elite lineup that includes Ryan Willie of the United States, Botswana’s Bayapo Ndori, Leungo Scotch, and Lee Bhekimpilo Eppie, Haron Adoli of Uganda, and South Africa’s Lythe Pillay and Zakithi Nene.

With such a stacked field, the race promises to be one of the highlights of the prestigious continental meet. Okezie, known for his strength in the final 100 meters, will need to bring his A-game to make an impact in a field brimming with international and Olympic-level talent.

This event serves as a key part of the build-up to the Paris 2024 Olympics and the African Championships later this year. For Okezie, it’s more than just a race—it’s an opportunity to cement his place among the continent’s sprinting elite and send a strong message ahead of the global season.
