Belgian club Sporting Charleroi have activated the €3.5m buyout option in the loan deal to sign Nigeria international, Victor Osimhen on a permanent transfer from German club, Wolfsburg.
Osimhen who spent the 2018-19 season on loan at the Belgian side, scoring 20 goals and providing four assists in 36 matches has become the club’s first signing of the summer.
However, Charleroi may still sell the striker this summer as AC Milan, Southampton and Lille are linked with signing the 20-year-old.
A figure between €12m and €15m from any of the suitors may be enough for Charleroi to sell as it will represent a significant profit for them.
Osimhen joined Wolfsburg in 2017 after winning the Golden Boot and Silver Ball awards at the 2015 FIFA U17 World Cup in Chile, but injuries affected his performance at the club as he made only 14 appearances.
