CHAOS IN LAGOS: Oluwaseun Mustapha Targets Nigerian Welterweight Boxing Title On July 21st

A fast-rising boxer, Oluwaseun Mustapha has disclosed that his mind is fully set on becoming Nigeria’s national welterweight champion on the 21st of this month in the Chaos in Lagos boxing competition.

Mustapha would be fighting Yakubu Faruq in the Nigeria National Welterweight title challenge bout that would take place at the indoor sports hall of the National Stadium, Surulere.

Towards achieving that onerous target in his nascent boxing career, Mustapha said he is taking his training very seriously and he will not joke with anybody until he snatches the belt later this month.

He, however, stopped short of revealing details of routine towards the upcoming bout, stating instead that he is a man of few words and he will let his fists do the talking for him on July 21.

Mustapha, who is classified in the 67kg category, declared: “I am fighting for the national title on the 21st of July. I am fully ready. I am fully, fully ready for the fight.

“My opponent should be fully prepared as well because, on that day, I will not be joking with anybody. Not only him, I will not joke with anybody, because I want to concentrate fully and get victory.

“That’s all I will say, because I don’t like talking too much. When we get to the ring, we will see what will happen there. We will see how serious I am, when we get to the ring.”
