Ikechukwu is billed to fight in the 66/67kg class in one of the undercard bouts during the series tagged ‘Chaos In Lagos,’ as organised by Unboxx Sports & Entertainment Limited.
As he gets set to step into the roped square next Sunday, the ambitious boxer said he has beefed up his daily drills, so that he will be able to get his fourth knockout victory.
“I’ve been in camp training and working hard,” Ikechukwu disclosed. “I’ve been working hard, and I think my pattern has changed. I’ve built myself into a dynamic style that will help me give a dynamic fight. Style makes the fight.
“I know, by the grace of God, I will come out victorious and with success on that day, July 21st.”
Ikechukwu went on to reveal that he has huge ambitions to achieve as a professional boxer, hence his choice of some world-renowned pugilists as his mentors.
“I have six fights and six wins so far as a professional, with three coming by way of knockouts. I have a target and a vision to be great in boxing.
“When I see boxers training, I wonder how we can go far. I watch my role models like Alvarez, Carnelo, Floyd Mayweather, David Haye, and many others. I’ve been watching them for years.
“The problem, though, is that, in Nigeria, we lack sponsorship. I believe if I can get a good sponsor to add to my assistance, I know I will do better, and I will be a champion one day,” Ikechukwu projected.
