The head coach of Simba Queens, Charles Lukula has charged his side who are making thier debut in the CAF Women’s Champions League tournament to put up a good fight against Bayelsa Queens revealing they won’t return back to thier country without a medal ahead of thier third place clash.
Bayelsa Queens lost 1-0 to Egyptian side, Wadi Delga as thier dreams of a final showpiece was abruptly cut short with the loss setting them up against the Tanzanian outfit who lost 1-0 against Mamelodi Sundowns for a third place fight.
Ahead of the showpiece, Lukula praised the energy of his girls admitting that they gave a good fight and lost to a much more experienced side while being optimistic that his side can bow out on a high note against Domo Okara girls.
“This is an important game, we need to at least go back home with a medal, I will need to concentrate and see how I can score goals if I get those chances I wasted because going back home with the medal would be better for the girls,” he continued.
“I am going to concentrate, it is not yet over, to see that I improve on my scoring ability. The message I will be giving the girls is that football is not ending today and for us in this competition, we’ve achieved.
“I am going to tell them to put their heads up because everyone wants to be here, but only four teams remain in this competition, so we are proud of that, I am going to tell them to walk with their heads up, no worries, I am very happy,” he told CAF official website.
Simba Queens will face Bayelsa Queens for the third place match on Nov. 12 at Moulay Hassan, Morroco.
