Edo Queens demolished Hassacas of Ghana 3-0 to book a semi final ticket at the ongoing WAFU B Tourney which serves as 2024CAF Women Champions League qualifier on Wednesday in Bouake Ivory Coast, Sports247 reports.
The Nigeria champions contained the highly physical Ghanian side in the first half as both teams settled for a goalless first half.
But the Nigeria champions got the unlocking Pin codes of the defending Champions of the WAFU Trophy, Hasaacas Ladies of Ghana, they fell like a pack of cards in the second half conceded three goals with enterprising midfielder Emem Essien in the center of everything good for the Lady Arsenals of Benin as Esther Moses, and fantastic captain Abideen Suliat also had a great game.
The results consolidated Edo Queens at the top of the log, scoring six points and eight goals with no goal conceded and left the Ghanian champion on the brink of elimination.
In the group’s other game, AS Enticelles of Burkina Faso whitewashed AS Garde of Niger Republic 6-1 leapfrogging Hassacas to second position on the log, knocking out AS Garde of the competition.
AS Enticelles needs to avoid defeat against Edo Queens to make the semi finals while Hassacas Ladies FC of Ghana must defeat AS Garde with as many goals as possible and for a favour from the Edo Queens before they can qualify.
The winner of the region WAFU B CAF Women Champions League tourney will represent the region in the main event later in the year.
