The Beninoise team are the favourite going into the match riding on a valuable score draw and highly valued away goals in the first leg encounter in Ikenne last Saturday as a goalless draw will see the Warriors from Maiduguri crash out of the competition.

Yaya Kone, the coach of Dadje FC cannot hide his delight over the ability of his team to take advantage of the away goal scored, in the second leg to eliminate Elkanemi Warriors from progressing in the competition.

“ I came here for a good result and that’s what we had. It’s very important we score and we can prepare well for the return leg” Kone told newsmen after the first leg.

Dadje scored first in Ikenne last Saturday in the first leg but Elkanemi had to wait till the stoppage-time to get a goal by Gimba Ajiji and salvage a 1-1 draw.

Coach Aliyu Zubair gave loads of excuses for his team failure to pull a win in the first leg and attributed their lustre less performance to the negative effect , the End Bad Governance protest on his team.

“The time we were supposed to go for the pre-season tournament was when the #EndBadGovernance protest broke out in the country and the Governor said we shouldn’t risk the life of any player by going out of the state, by the time the protest ended, we couldn’t play any grade A match and certainly, the inability to play matches showed in our game negatively” said Zubair.

The second leg is another chance for El-Kanemi Warriors to navigate, to put aside all excuses and find a way on the pitch to cross the Dadje hurdle and qualify for the next round.

The kick off of the match is 4 pm, Nigeria time on Saturday.
