CAF Picks Nigerian Referee Qassim Abdulsallam For 2024 CHAN

Qassim Abdulsallam has been picked by the Confedaration of African Football CAF as one of centre referee that will officiate at the 2024 CHAN, Sports247 reports.

Qassim Abdulsallam is the only Nigerian referee that was listed in the 65 man roaster release by the football for the 8th edition of the championship and will begin on February 1st 2025.

Qassim Abdulsallam was one of one 25 Referees who will officiating at the center during the championship slated to hold in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.

The list also has 25 assistant referees and 14 Video Assistant Referees, VAR officials for the tournament.

Qassim Abdulsallam distinguished himself in the second leg of the CHAN between Niger and Cote d’ivoire at the Bamako Stade, 26 Mars last weekend.

The Zamfara State Referees’ Council member, Qassim Abdulsallam was among the referees who went to the CHAN course preparations exercise in Cairo late last year.

Before now, Abdulsallam also was on the list of match officials invited for the WAFU U-20 qualifiers earlier in Togo.

He is expected to flag the colours high and bring his wealth of experience to bear on the integrity of the competence anytime he is called upon.
