The Confederation Africaine de Football (CAF) has mandated its Audit and Governance Committee to investigate allegations of breaches within its Secretariat.
This follows concerns about possible violations of CAF’s internal Governance and Auditing Regulations.

To ensure a thorough and impartial investigation, the Audit and Governance Committee will appoint a highly respected international law firm or an internationally renowned audit and professional services firm.
The chosen firm will scrutinize the alleged breaches and submit a detailed report to the CAF Executive Committee (EXCO).
CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe emphasized the organization’s commitment to transparency and ethical practices, stating, “There is zero tolerance in CAF for corruption or breaches of our governance, audit, and transparency regulations.
We have committed CAF to adhering to global best practices in governance, audit, transparency, and ethics.” He highlighted the role of the Internal Governance and Compliance Department, established in 2021, in identifying the alleged breaches and bringing them to the attention of the CAF leadership.
Dr. Motsepe further noted the importance of maintaining the respect CAF has earned from sponsors, partners, African governments, and other stakeholders. “The current culture in CAF of implementing and adhering to global best practices has resulted in CAF being respected by its sponsors, partners, African governments, and other stakeholders.
We are determined to retain this hard-earned respect,” he said. The EXCO will review the report and recommendations from the Audit and Governance Committee, and appropriate actions will be taken if any improper conduct is identified.
The CAF Audit and Governance Committee is led by Justice Petrus Damaseb, with Mr. Happi Dieudoné serving as Vice Chairman.
The committee also includes Mr. Mohammed Zaazi and Mr. Mouhamed Nour-Dine Assindoh, who serve as Chairman and Vice Chairman of the CAF Audit and Compliance Committee, respectively. The committee is expected to uphold the highest standards of integrity and transparency throughout the investigation process.
