Kumbi Titiloye, Chairman Kwara United football club has spoken out following the team’s 3-1 second preliminary round first leg victory against RS Berkane at thier home ground as he says that it was indeed a deserved victory for his boys and Nigeria as a whole.
Djibril Ouattara had given the visitors the lead in the 7th minute as Kwara United dig deep for an equaliser but it didn’t come until the 74th from Taofeeq Ahmed who restored parity.
Wasiu Jimoh added a second in the 81st minute and Barnabas Daniel eventually put a nail to any hope of a comeback for Berkane in the 88th minute with his goal to make it 3-1.
Speaking after the result, Kumbi downplayed the visitors technicality, he said, “I beg to disagree that they are more technical, where was the technicality today.”
“The joy I have today is that Nigerians are able to watch Kwara United play football.”
“Our philosophy is accuracy, movement and goals, we will go there and make Nigerians proud,” he boasted ahead of the second leg which is slated for Saturday 15th of October at the RS Berkane Municipal Stadium.
