Simba SC head coach Sven Vandenbroeck has insisted that the job is not yet completed for his side after securing an important 1-0 away victory against Plateau United on Sunday.
The Belgium coach has warned his players against complacency as they still have a huge task ahead of them against the Nigerian Champions in the return leg of their preliminary round of the CAF Champions League.
The Tanzanian side defeated Plateau United 1-0 in Nigeria in the first Leg and will aim to wrap up the victory when Plateau United comes visiting in Tanzania for the return fixture.
With the victory against Plateau United, Vandenbroeck, while speaking with Sports247, has warned his players to look beyond the first leg and focus now on the reverse fixture at home, admitting that the job is not yet completed until they see off the Nigerian Champions at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Deres salaam on December 5th to move to the next round of the competition.
“It was a tough game, a very strong opponent who tried all tricks technically to find a goal, but I congratulate my players because all 90 minutes, we were running to prevent them from scoring”.
“I think we need to be very happy with the victory. It is a very great result (considering we won away from home), but we still haven’t finished the job yet, because next week, we have 90 minutes”, he concluded.
The Tanzanian Champions, Simba SC will need only a draw to qualify for the next stage of the competition, while Plateau United will aim to overturn the 1-0 deficit in order to advance.
