Remo Stars of Ikenne captain, Junior Nduka has confessed that he and his colleagues are not yet ready for their first outing in the CAF Champions League.

Junior Nduka disclosed this while reacting to the CCL draw that pitched Remo Stars against ASFAR of Morocco in the first-round preliminary stage.
The fixture brings back memories of how Remo Stars fell 1-0 to the same team in Ikenne, after playing 1-1 away in the first leg, during the 2022 CAF Confederation Cup.
With both sides now set to clash in the money-spinning Champions League and Remo Stars to play the first leg at home, one would have felt they would go for a revenge mission.
However, Nduka has a different revelation, as he says Honourable Kunle Soname’s team has not yet even commenced pre-season training.
“For now, we are not ready,” admitted Nduka, who equally expressed shock at being drawn against ASFAR again.
“We just resumed yesterday, and most of our newly signed players are not yet here.”I am surprised that we’ll play them again.
I watched the draws and, when I saw that our tickets were both last in the pot, I knew we were going to play them again. So, it will be another tough game, no doubt about it.”
“We are not ready because we’ve not had our first training session, but we’ll see how things will go after we start training.”
Nigeria’s other representative in the CAF Champions League will tango Union Sportive de Zilinadjou of Comoros Island, with The Flying Antelopes, who won the NPFL this season, also billed to play the first leg at home.
