The management of Plateau United Football Club of Jos says fans will not be allowed into the Jos international stadium to watch its preliminary first leg tie against Simba SC of Tanzania, Sunday.
General Manager of the club, Pius Henwan who disclosed this in Jos ahead of the match explained that there is no clearance by the National Centre for Disease Control and the Presidential Task Force on Covid-19 to have fans in the stadium.
Henwan stated that as a law-abiding club, they would not do anything that will violate the order which may put the lives of the club most cherish fans and spectators at risk.
While regretting the disappointment this decision may have caused the general public especially the club supporters, the General Manager appealed for understanding and urged them to accept it in good fate and pray for the team to ensure a resounding victory against the East African powerhouse.
He however stressed that all categories of persons who will be covering the match such as the Press, Nigeria Football Federation NFF, the Plateau State Football Association as well as invited VIPs will only be allowed into the stadium after properly identifying themselves through a valid accreditation card.
The statement warned that unauthorized persons to stay away from the stadium in their own interest as security agencies have been properly briefed deal decisively with anyone found wanting.
Plateau United Football Club of Jos will play host to Simba SC of Tanzania at the Jos international stadium Sunday at 4 pm.
