Nigeria Women Football League have been highly represented on the nomination list of the CAF Awards for 2022 as Rivers Angels and FC Robo star, Gift Monday and Edo Queens star, Flourish Sebastian are listed.
CAF released the preliminary nomination list today and has four super Falcons stars on it for player of the year nomination.
Rivers Angels, Nigeria’s 2021 women champions and representative at the inaugural 2021 Women’s CAF champions league were nominated for the ‘club of the year award.’
NWFL star, Gift Monday who is currently in Morocco playing for the Super Falcons at the ongoing Women Africa Cup of Nations got nominated in two different categories.
Gift who scored 12 goals in the just concluded NWFL season is nominated for the ‘young player of the year award’ and ‘interclub player of the year award.’
Joining Gift on the nomination list is Edo Queens and Falconets star, Flourish Sebastian who had an impressive season with the Benin based club side.
Flourish is also nominated for the ‘young player of the year award’ joining 8 other young players across Africa.
A shortlist will be released later as the awards will be presented in Morocco later this month after the 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
