The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially released the dates for Nigeria’s Super Eagles’ qualifying matches for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Each team is vying for a coveted spot in the upcoming AFCON tournament, set to take place in Morocco.

Nigeria’s journey to secure qualification will commence on September 7, when the 2013 AFCON champions will host Gernot Rohr’s Benin Republic at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.

Just three days later, they will travel to Kigali for their second group encounter against Rwanda at the Amahoro Stadium.

With the Super Eagles finishing as runners-up at the 2023 AFCON, the team is determined to make a stronger push this time around and bring the gold medal home.

However, this ambition faces a significant hurdle, as the three-time AFCON champions currently find themselves without a head coach.

With less than a month to go before their first qualifying match, the absence of a leader on the sidelines raises concerns about their prospects for success.

Despite this uncertainty, there is a sense of optimistic anticipation among fans and players alike. The upcoming matches against Benin Republic and Rwanda are seen as pivotal in Nigeria’s journey towards the 2025 AFCON.

With dedicated preparations and strong fan support, the Super Eagles are gearing up for what promises to be a critical campaign.

The performances in these fixtures will not only determine their standing in the group but also set the tone for their overall preparation as they aim to secure their place in the continental showpiece.
