Adejumo reflects on the match, addressing the team’s performance and the challenges faced.
Adejumo acknowledges that the game was an opportunity for BYT FC to secure a victory. Despite not delivering their best performance, he believed the team created more scoring chances during the match. He pointed out in an interview with Sports247.
However, Adejumo notes a significant challenge affecting his team’s gameplay—the unfamiliarity of playing on a turf field. He mentions that the turf surface impacted the players’ performance but saw this as part of the team’s developmental journey, emphasizing the need for rapid adaptation.
“We created more chances but unfortunately, they are still not used to the turf. The turf affected their play, but it is part of development, so they have to quickly adapt.”
He also highlights that while the boys have played on turf occasionally, they are more comfortable playing on grass and sand due to over a year of training on such surfaces.
“Because they have been training there for over one year. They only play on this kind of turf once in a while, and with their age, they are supposed to keep it simple, but they make it look difficult,” Adejumo explains.

“It takes them to adjust to the turf because it is steep, and I knew it would happen,” he adds.
Discussing his plans for the team, Adejumo stresses the importance of simplicity in their play, especially when adjusting to new playing surfaces. He emphasizes the need for players to manage their energy effectively, as playing on turf demands more physical exertion compared to grass fields.
BYT FC, with over a decade of existence and recent participation in the top level for the last 3-4 years, remains optimistic about their upcoming matches. Adejumo anticipates improved performances from the team as they continue to adapt to varying field conditions.
