Party faithful who could not make it to the All Progressive Congress (APC) Secretariat located at Acme Road, Agidingbi, Ikeja, the venue that hosted the official welcoming of Fuji Music crooner Alhaji Abass Akande Obesere and other from opposition parties to the APC family on Tuesday will find it extremely difficult to envisage the value that the event will add to the party activities ahead Saturday’s gubernatorial and state assembly elections in the Centre of Excellence.
The management team, players and officials of Buruj Sports Academy joined the Ibadan-born music exponent who incidentally is the Chairman Board Of Trustees of the academy to add some gloss and glamour to the occasion that witnessed some of the best tunes of PK1st as he showed solidarity and pledged his loyalty to the ruling party.
The APC State Secretary Wale Ahmed who presented the man popularly known as Omo Rapala to the party members and thousands of decampees in attendance, opined that though some of the party big-wigs were busy planning ahead of weekend elections, he has been mandated to welcome him and others who crossed over from various parties to join the winning team and present the party flags to them.
Also speaking at the occasion, the CEO of Buruj Sports Academy, Salaudeen Waheed, disclosed that as someone who has been part of Alhaji Obesere’s life history both as a friend and fan, his decamping from PDP to APC is well thought out, saying he is someone that always like to associate himself with progressive ideologies which APC as a party is well known for.
He also expressed absolute confidence that Obesere’s decamping is a good omen going into Saturday election because he is a winner any day, anytime.
It was thrill and funfair all through and the players and officials of the academy who are getting set for their first foreign trip in year 2019 were not left out.
