Following his triumph in the just concluded gubernatorial primaries in a contest that pitched him against the incumbent Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, the management of Buruj Sports Academy has joined other Lagosians to congratulate Mr. Babajide Sanwoolu, who will carry the banner of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in next year’s general election as party candidate for the office of the Governor.
According to the new release from the office of the CEO of the Ikorodu-based academy, Salaudeen Waheed Buruj, the emergence of Mr. Sanwoolu as the party flagbearer through the primaries was an indication that God has destined that he will be the one that will drive the growth of the Centre of Excellence to the next level and promised that he and other management staff of the academy will do everything within their means to support him at the polls next year.
The statement also admonished Lagosians to pull their resources together so that the ruling party candidate can consolidate on the gains and work of his predecessors.
The state chairman of the party, Tunji Balogun, announced the outcome of the poll at Lagos APC headquarters Ogba, Ikeja, on Tuesday night.
Sanwoolu emerged winner with 970,851 votes while incumbent governor of the state polled a total of 72,901 votes.
Although, a national working committee panel on the election had declared the election null and void as a result of the open ballot mode.
