This new initiative has already opened registration, creating a unique opportunity for young Nigerian talent to gain world-class training.

Waheed Salaudeen, CEO of Buruj Football Academy, emphasized the importance of this collaboration, noting that it aligns closely with the academy’s mission to nurture young talent and elevate their skills to an international standard.

“We are pleased with this offer because it’s exactly what we believe in—developing young players from the basics to the international stage,” Salaudeen stated.

The program is set to provide grassroots players in Nigeria with hands-on training from Manchester City coaches, offering instruction in technical skills, strategic awareness, and teamwork under the guidance of one of Europe’s most respected youth development systems.

Reflecting Manchester City’s commitment to global youth development, this collaboration promises Nigerian players a rare chance to receive world-class training without having to leave the country.

In a milestone for the academy, Raheem Salaudeen, Buruj’s standout defensive midfielder, has already been registered for the program.

Raheem was recently selected as one of the final 40 elite players for the prestigious NFF/FIFA Talent Development Scheme, underscoring his place among Nigeria’s most promising young footballers. His participation highlights Buruj’s role in fostering top-level talent and expanding pathways for young players aiming for the highest echelons of the sport.

Waheed Salaudeen emphasized that registration for the program is now open and encouraged parents and guardians interested in enrolling their children to act quickly, as spots are limited.

“We invite all interested parents and guardians to contact us promptly for registration, as space is filling up fast,” he said.

With Manchester City’s Young Player Development Program kicking off in January, this partnership is poised to serve as a powerful platform for fostering African talent and possibly uncovering future stars from Nigeria.

The program offers young players structured development and exposure to international coaching standards, positioning them for potential opportunities with elite football clubs worldwide.
