Super Eagles midfielder Oghenekaro Etebo has been included in the list of players retained by Stoke City for the 2019/20 season.

There has been fear of the 23-year-old departure among the club’s supporters as Turkish Champions Galatasaray have explored the possibility of signing the versatile midfielder.

Etebo, who joined the Potters from Portuguese outfit CD Feirense managed to score two goals in 34 appearances for the club last season and scooped the club’s player of the season award following his scintillating showings.

The list of Stoke City’s summer departures include Charlie Adam, Darren Fletcher and Jakob Haugaard following the conclusion of the 2018/19 campaign.

On the international scene, Etebo will strive to earn a spot in the final 23-man squad for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations after being listed in Nigeria’s provisional list by head coach Gernot Rohr.
