After topping their group with six points, Buruj Sports Academy will this morning (Saturday) confront Cardiff And Vale College Football Academy in the semi-final match of the ongoing Welsh International Super Cup taking place at the sports complex of Cardiff City University in Cardiff, Wales.
The team after winning their two opening group games against St. Joseph FC and Cardiff Draconians on Thursday by 2-1 and 4-0 respectively slumped to their first loss in the competition against Pentwyn Dynamos on Friday to set up a battle against another home team.
After failing to defend their English Super Cup title in Manchester last weekend, the young players are battle-ready to make amends by winning the much-coveted Welsh Super Cup for the first time in the history of the competition.
While previewing the game, the CEO of the academy, Salaudeen Waheed, declared that his boys will go all out to play their hearts and hopefully make it to the final stage.
He also played down the challenge of injuries facing the team which he said to a certain extent affected their performance in the 2-1 loss to Pentwyn on Friday.
The curtains will be drawn on the competition on Sunday and the Nigerian representatives will be looking to give their supporters and fans alike something to cheer for their outings in the United Kingdom which began in Manchester about a fortnight ago.
