Buruj Sports Academy will this morning confront U-17 Eko Football Future Stars in a friendly game inside the Agege Stadium to commence the final phase of their preparation for this year’s edition of English Super Cup and Welsh Super Cup in the United Kingdom.
It is the first in the series of the warm-up games being put together to put the young boys who are being pencilled down to make the trip in good shape ahead of their departure for the tournament.
Another friendly game this same week will be against Vinogano FC come Saturday afternoon at Strong Tower Pitch, Ikorodu, Lagos.
While speaking on the rationale for the loaded games for the youngsters, the CEO of the academy Salaudeen Waheed said he and his technical department are poised to raise a strong team while also stressing the importance of the need for individual fine-tuning of some of the boys who will be on parade.
He also heaps plaudits on the Chairman of Ikorodu Divisional Football Association Alh. Lukman Shonibare for his moral and technical assistance in the process of preparation.
It would be recalled that the sport administrator recently vowed to continue to back the team with technical assistance by organising top friendly games for the boys ahead of their final departure.
The English and Welsh Super Cup will hold between July 25 and August 4 this year in Manchester and Cardiff respectively while the Buruj Boys are the defending champions of the English Super Cup.
