Chief Executive Officer of Buruj Football Academy,Dr Waheed Buruj Salaudeen has expressed confidence that his tean will go beyond first round of Lagos State Challenge Cup.
The Lagos State Football Association LSFA has ordered the closure of football activities in the state for more than six weeks in line with the directives of Nigeria Football Federation as a result of pandemic disease, covid-19.
In a telephone chat this morning, Salaudeen said he hoped that his team would be better this year Lagos FA Cup considering the fact that his players had exposed to travel tour late last year which would help them to go beyond first round.
“My club is regular when you talk of clubs being regular in Lagos FA Cup, but my target this year at least we want to win two or three matches to show Lagos football fans that we are equal to the task.In the past few years,we normally crash out in the first round but I must say that my players went to training tour to England and Holland late last year and i am happy that they are fastly improved and they are ready to shock big teams in this year Lagos FA Cup,”he said.
Commenting if his players are in camp now, Salaudeen said his players are not in camp but he monitored their performance through phone call.
“I monitor my players through their coversation with me on phone.Of course they do personal training and i am satisfied with their level of fitness now,”he said.
Salaudeen who doubles as Technical Director of the club boasted that his players are not afraid of any professional or amateur team in Lagos FA Cup saying that his players have what it takes to curtail any team that come their way in their opening match.
